Sweet Temptation is currently under some heavy-duty maintenance, so the entire site is inaccessible. It will be back shortly. ETA: ST is up and running.

Yup, it was the webserver application. Site is back up now. |

Not sure what the problem is. FTP and ping work fine, so the server itself is up and running; my guess would be that the webserver application is causing the trouble. I've contacted the host, hopefully they'll be able to fix this soon. |

Wow, this was less work than I expected. The template class seems to have been the only thing that didn't work with PHP5. I'd say we're back! |

ARGH! Looks like they finally installed the PHP upgrade last night. Would have been nice if I had received some kind of information, but whatever. The thing that's not working is the function that calls the skins. I'll get to fixing it right away. |

We're not really down, but reaching the site seems to be a bit of a hit and miss thing tonight.
I have no notice concerning an upgrade or any maintenance work, so it's probably due to our host having some connection or server troubles. In case anyone is worried, those instances when it seems like the stories have disappeared are simply the result of the server containing the files being up/reachable, while the database server isn't. (Database and files are on two separate machines.)
I'm sorry about this, but there is really nothing I can do about it. If this isn't fixed by this time tomorrow, I'll send in a support-ticket; but chances are they are already working on the problem anyway, so I'll give them some time first.
Edit on 21/11/2007:
I've contacted our host and asked them what's going on, this is the reply I got:
We are aware of the intermittent problems with your mysql server; and are working to correct the issue as soon as possible.
So no upgrades or anything, just some server-trouble. We'll just have to live with it until they sort it out. |

| The Bloodshedverse | OK | 10/11/2007 09:08 am |
Looks like the upgrade has been installed successfully, everything is back in working order. |

The URL-problem is fixed; domain name registration has been transfered to my normal host, so that's that.
As for right now, the site may be down for a few hours while the webspace host is upgrading their software.
On Wednesday , October 10th at 2 am (CST) we will be upgrading the WebsiteSource Control Panel system. This upgrade will take several hours to complete, during which time the Control Panel and other services may be intermittently down. If the upgrade takes longer than eight hours, the upgrade process will resume on Thursday, October 11th at 2 am ( CST).
I'll update here once I'm reasonably sure that the upgrading is complete. |

The domain name problem is back. Since the old host absolutely refused to communicate with me directly, I was unable to register the name somewhere else. Hopefully now that it seems to be canceled, I'll be able to register it anew.
For now, you can reach the site here:

The new layout has been launched, and everything's live again. Expect the Zone Noir to undergo similar treatment over the weekend. As always, do mention if I've broken something without spotting it.

| Season2ep14.net | Due to maintaince work, the site is in read-only mode. | 04/26/2007 12:54 pm |
Season2Ep14.net is undergoing a major re-design. Over the next few hours the new CSS based layout will go live for the main archive (The Zone Noir will remain using the old layout for a few days, and will follow if nothing implodes in the meantime). As a result, you might see the odd glitch as files are replaced. Posting is still live, but won't actually show up on the site until after the new layout is up. Comments and feedback on the new layout are welcome! Hopefully I won't break anything.

Season2Ep14.net is currently unavailable. I'm in the process of frowning in the general direction of my host. They're usually pretty speedy, so barring catastrophe we should be back within the hour.

| Season2ep14.net | OK | 01/13/2007 11:21 pm |
Season2ep14.net is backup and running fine. No data was lost during the downtime, although do let me know if you think anything's amiss. Damned technology.

| Season2ep14.net | Not accessible at the moment. | 01/13/2007 06:46 pm |
Season2Ep14.net is currently down after a hard disk failure in our server. All data and content is completely safe, and I have the daily rolling backup to fall back on if something does get zapped. A new hard disk is currently being installed, so hopefully downtime should be no longer than an hour / hour and a half. I'll keep you updated.

| Sinister Attraction | OK | 12/25/2006 04:50 am |
Sinister Attraction is back up at my new host! Everything has been transferred over except the gallery - which I think I've lost since I accidentally didn't save the SQL database and a few important files.
Actually, I'm okay with that since it was never the biggest part of the site, but I have the images themselves so I'm hoping to get that part of the site back up in the (somewhat) near future. The most important thing, the archive and moments, are back online. Yay! |
| |
| Sinister Attraction | The normal address is not working. | 12/23/2006 01:43 am |
I wanted to let everyone know that Sinister Attraction will be offline for a day or two while I move the site to its new host and reupload all of the content, fix links, fix databases, etc.
I'm hoping to have the site back online on Sunday at the latest and will post again when the site is back up! Thanks! |

Sorry, I should have warned you there might be problems, but I assumed they would be able to do their maintaince-stuff without problems.
Got an email the day before yesterday from our host:
Website Source will be performing maintenance to our control panel beginning at 1:00 AM CST Sunday December 10.
During this maintenance window MySQL will be upgraded to version 4.1.21 and PostgreSQL will be upgraded to 7.4.13.
Thank You,
Website Source, Inc.
Hope it won't take too long.

And we're back! The routers have been replaced and so far everything seems to be fine, so feel free to post.
|
| |
| Season2ep14.net | The normal address is not working. | 11/28/2006 05:28 pm |
Due to a dual router failure at our data centre Season2Ep14.net is intermittently unreachable, and probably will be for a few more hours yet. The router failure means that all traffic coming into the data centre is being routed through the same backup connection, which is causing severe bottlenecks. As a result, sometimes requests for season2ep14.net will timeout.
The routers are being replaced right now, but it'll take a few hours to get them installed, setup and online. In the meantime, it's probably a good idea to hold off on adding new fic.

Yay! It looks like Globat did actually change the DNS settings back to what we used before, when the account was payed up. The URL bloodshedverse.com is working again.
I'd suggest you don't just forget about the IP address though, because I still intend to try the transfer again as soon as Globat gives me the green light. According to the information I have right now, that should be in about a month. Under no circumstances am I gonna leave the doamin name with them, not after the crappy way they handled this. (Not to mention that the other way will be cheaper.) |

Ok, the server is back up.
I'll delete this post later so that the one concerning the domain name problem will once again be to uppermost post.
For those who are interested, this is the info I got from the host on what happened:
Due to a major power failure at our Austin data center, which included failure
of redundant backup systems, we had a major outage of all network and server
hardware from about 5am to 10am CST today. Systems have been back up for a
few hours but we are still seeing some instability due to high loads after
server reboot. We appoligize for the inconvenience and ask that you bear with
us as we work to bring back a normal level of service as soon as possible. |

Host seems to have connection problems. If you want to know what I could figure out about this, you can check out our lj-community; but since it is mostly useless and only of interest to people with an unhealty interest in everything computer, I'll spare you here.
I'll make a short post when we're up again, for the mailing list people - and delete both posts afterwards because the one about the domain-name is still current. |

| The Bloodshedverse | The normal address is not working. | 09/28/2006 10:55 am |
The domain name bloodshedverse.com has expired and we're trying to transfer ownership. At the moment you will see a different site if you go to this address, but don't worry, that's not a new owner. The host still holding the domain is basically using it for adds, it's still registered on Bloodshedbaby though.
To keep you up-to-date, here are the steps we have to take to transfer the ownership to me:
My host will send an email to Bloodshedbaby and ask if she agrees with the transfer.
Bloodshedbaby has to fill out the form and send it back to my host.
My host has to contact the registrar (Enom.com), show them my request and Bloodshedbaby's agreement, and ask them to start the transfer.
Enom.com has to agree to the transfer.
- The old host (Globat.com) has to unlock the domain name so the transfer can be completed.
And that's where we are right now. Globat is being a pain in the ass!
I asked them to unlock the domain, and they replied that ther are no days left in the old account. (We kinda knew that, seeing how it is the reason we want to cancel it in the first place.) What they didn't do is tell us what we have to do for them to unlock the domain name. Do we have to pay up another month? Cancel the account? What???
So we sent them another round of emails, and finally learned that yes, we have to pay up the account for another month. We agreed to that, they send us the invoice and Bloodshedbaby payed for another month.
Done, right? Ha! If you believe that, you made your bet without Globat.
No, now we learned that there is some rule that states they can't free the domain name for transfer until 30 days after the request was made. Now I know that's bull, because once you request a domain transfer, you have two weeks for the current owner/company to agree and free the name. Notice the problem? 14 days vs. 30 days? Doesn't really make sense, does it?
Anyway, it looks like I'll have to wait another two weeks, and then go and put in my request for the transfer again. I'd like to say that I hope we'll be able to use the domain name in the meantime, but I've hoped for a lot of things since this started, so who knows.
While we're working on this the url bloodshedverse.com won't work, but you can still access the Bloodshedverse by using the ip-address instead.

Sorry about this, but I can't really do anything to speed things up at this point.
